The country’s livestock industry is a significant contributor to the gross domestic product (GDP) and is crucial to the overall welfare of the rural population, generating employment on a large scale. Given the ever-growing population of the country, demand for livestock-based products is increasing at a tremendous pace. The demand is especially high for meat and eggs. Other livestock product categories include mutton and lamb products, poultry, cow and buffalo meat products and so on.
