The auto repair industry in India is largely fragmented and therefore, not subject to any fixed pricing policy. At the same time, while the average vehicle owner is still dependant on roadside mechanics, the industry is slowly becoming more organised as there has been an increase in automobile dealer workshops and authorised vehicle service centres within the country. With the rise in income levels, people do not mind paying more money for having their vehicles repaired in authorised units that have trained mechanics, genuine spare parts, proper equipment and a transparent invoicing system.
