Among all the diagnostic techniques currently operational in India, molecular diagnostics holds great potential. Molecular diagnostics employs various tests and other techniques to analyse the DNA of an organism and thereby identify diseases or the tendency to develop certain diseases. While molecular diagnostics applications can be broadly grouped together under clinical as well as nonclinical forms, the range of such technologies can be classified into target amplification, probe amplification and signal amplification.
