The gaming industry can be broadly classified under four main categories, namely console-based gaming, mobile gaming, packaged PC-based gaming and cable set top box gaming. Recently, with more and more people preferring to play games on their mobile phones rather than on gaming consoles, the gaming consoles industry is on the decline in India. The digitalisation of cable networks is expected to provide a major boost to the gaming industry within the country.
