The market for desserts in India is highly fragmented and dominated by the unorganised sector. However, the spread of organised retail in recent years has led to a more structured and organised market for frozen desserts. In fact, a number of reputed domestic and multinational companies are doing brisk business in the frozen desserts segment within the country. At the same time, the relatively high prices of frozen desserts create impediments to their large scale consumption in India.
