The domestic turbines industry has recorded solid growth in recent years largely due to the fact that wind energy has emerged as one of the most important sources of renewable energy in the country. India has adequate facilities for generation of wind energy and this has led to increased demand for energy-related equipment, thus proving to be a huge advantage for the turbines industry. The focus on wind energy has increased recently due to the volatile prices in the energy sector, issues of environmental sustainability as well as worldwide climate changes. The resultant government initiatives have also further boosted the prospects of the turbines industry. At the same time, older turbines need to be replaced by newer models of high-powered wind turbines and offshore wind farms need to be developed.
