Gaming is a thriving industry in India and one that is witnessing rapid growth. The term gaming refers to the act of running specialized applications known as electronic games on machines specially built for the purpose or on computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones. If a game is played using an internet connection, it is then known as online gaming. Nowadays, gaming has become both sophisticated as well as complex, thanks to the use of high quality graphics, 3D visuals, stereophonic sound and full-motion video. Typical gaming devices have joysticks that help a gamer to interact better with the gaming interface. Games that can be played on computers are sold on CDs and DVDs in electronics and music stores, while others can be downloaded from the internet or played online. People who play games almost on a regular basis are known as gamers and depending upon their ability, can be categorized as casual gamers, hardcore gamers, professional gamers and so on.
