Mobile telephony can easily be termed as one of the most important recent inventions of mankind, and the number of mobile phone connections across the world has grown at a phenomenal rate. Mobile telephony provides telephone services to phones that move from one point to another, rather than remaining fixed in a particular location. Mobile telephones are centrally connected to a network comprising base stations that are also known as cell sites. An advanced form of mobile telephones comprises satellite phones that connect to satellites orbiting the earth. Mobile and satellite phones are connected to the PSTN or public switched telephone network which makes them capable of dialing any phone in the world. India is one of the world’s largest markets for the growth of mobile phone subscribers. In some developed countries, such as in Europe, the number of mobile phones is more than the number of people living there. At the same time, use of mobile phones during certain acts such as driving and walking often lead to a number of accidents.
