The rapid expansion of the real estate industry in India has also boosted the prospects of the domestic glass industry at a tremendous pace. The industry has recorded double digit growth in the recent past and there has been a steady increase in demand for glass and glass-based products. Both the flat glass and container glass markets are expanding at a healthy rate, with processed glass being in high demand within the architectural segment. The consumption of glass is also increasingly going up in industries as diverse as automotives, pharmaceuticals and consumer goods. A number of domestic and multinational companies are doing brisk business within the realm of the glass industry.
