The Indian diagnostics sector has witnessed rapid expansion in recent times, mainly as a result of the rise in chronic lifestyle-related diseases and availability of more disposable income in the hands of the population. An overwhelming proportion of the overall medical treatment that is provided in the country is dependant on laboratory diagnostic testing, thereby making it a very lucrative sector for investment. More health insurance coverage for the population has also brightened the prospects of the industry in general.
