Console gaming is one the most popular gaming segments in India. Several factors such as the country’s dominant youth population, increasing urbanisation and availability of more disposable income have led to the rapid expansion of console gaming within the country. There are a large and ever-increasing number of handheld consoles being used in India, and the entire segment is witnessing a healthy year-on-year expansion rate. However, gaming consoles are highly priced in India, given the taxes and import duties involved.
