India has made rapid strides in aircraft manufacturing in recent years that has been mainly fueled by solid demand for military as well as civil aircraft. The country’s domestic aircraft manufacturing industry is also backed by a thriving service and maintenance industry. Aircraft manufacturing has expanded in our country due to the relatively cheaper manufacturing and labour costs, as well as availability of skilled personnel and information technology services. The aircraft manufacturing industry is a significant contributor to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) and provides employment to a substantial section of the population. The high quality of the engineering talent pool available in India has also helped the industry prosper to a large extent.
