Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is basically natural gas that is modified into a liquid form for storage or for transportation purposes. This is why LNG takes up a fraction of the volume of natural gas when it is in the gaseous state. LNG is however, strongly flammable and needs to be handled with extreme care. In its commercial form, LNG is distributed across the country as pipeline natural gas. Apart from its use in domestic households as a cooking and heating medium, LNG is also used to power vehicles.
