In fact, India is one of the largest producers of dairy products worldwide and is also one of the largest consumers of milk and other dairy products. The dairy industry is a significant contributor to the gross domestic product (GDP) and also provides employment to a large section of the population. In recent years, the fast food industry has emerged as an important consumer of dairy products, thereby providing a further impetus to their production.
